My Lord God Is Not Done with Me Yet... Jacob Rapoo Tlhagale

I am far from being who I believe God wants me to be. Too often I make choices based on what I want. I value things that have no eternal significance. My attitudes often reveal some ugly truths about myself. There are times when I don't think much about my shortcomings; especially when I can focus on the shortcomings of others. But other times I am painfully aware of how far the path to godliness stretches ahead of me. And the tendency at times like that is to commit to trying harder. To care more about others. To work on my attitudes. And to love God more. But no matter how hard I might try, it seems that before I know it I have fallen back into my old ways, and nothing is different apart from being more frustrated than ever with my inability to make any significant change for the better. But then I read this verse, and so many others like it. And I realize that I am not the one most qualified to be attempting a makeover on my life. The one who took me from being an 18 year old looking to enjoy what the world had to offer, and changing me into one who had a desire to be holy; the one who delivered me from the road to destruction, and brought me into his light; and life.
