Is there a requirement that psychotherapy be effectively provided by ONLY one therapist? Could multiple therapists provide a better fit between them and the client? However, there hasn't been any academic literature that examines the effectiveness of a treatment team approach, particularly when applied to the problem of substance abuse. This book reviews the literature on the current approaches to addiction treatment, factors, which are critical to the change process, and various types of teams. It examines the client's role within this treatment team format. The analysis of the findings sheds some light on this new approach.
