'Twilight' director Catherine Hardwicke directs this Gothic retelling of the classic Grimm Brothers fairy tale. Amanda Seyfried stars as Valerie, a beautiful young woman whose parents have arranged a match for her with the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). But Valerie is in love with the handsome young Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), and the two plan to run away together.

However, a werewolf attack on Valerie's sister throws their plans into disarray. The villagers turn to werewolf hunter Father Solomon (Gary Oldman) to protect them, but as the death toll continues to rise they are horrified to discover that the wolf, who takes human form by day, is living among them.
