The Mother Kangaroo Program (MCP) is the most important contribution of Colombian medicine in the field of neonatology since 1978; it has become the golden strategy in the outpatient management of preterm newborns in Colombia, and within this philosophy it feels the commitment, within the COVID-19 contingency, to establish recommendations and guidelines to ensure its persistence, timeliness, safety of preterm newborns and high-risk newborns.
