Preston Esquire and TedTheodore Logan, the title duo of Bill & Ted'sExcellent Adventure and Bill & Ted's Bogus Journeywalked into your classroom spouting their trademarkslang and sporting their trademark nonchalancetowards the material? While their teacherunknowingly received the aid of a man from the futureand his time traveling phone booth, we only have muchmore modest pedagogical approaches at our disposal. However, as our society becomes increasingly moretechno-literate each day, the realm of possibilitiesopens up. This book examines what this shift towardstechno-literacy means in regards to reified objects, the difference between high and low culture, andpedagogy. By using an ideological socialconstructionist lens, we can understand ourparticipation in the creation of reified objects, andhow the acknowledgment of that process and itsobjects within the classroom can motivate and engagestudents in unique and positive ways.
