One of the most flurishing period of the British history is called the Victorian Age which started in the beginning of the nineteenth century and lasted till the early 1900's. During this period, the changing economy, the new-born capitalism created the idea of personal freedom which was spreading especially among the middle class. But the aristocracy was devoted to the exsistent rules and habits. This state of affairs caused a contrast between the aristocracy and the middle class in lots of fields. Oscar Wilde was born in this period in an inspiring middle class family. During his life he had essential conflicts with himself and with the age he lived in. He had a duality in his life. He was English and Irish but he was attracted to the Irish nationalists. He was a Protestant but he was drawn to Catholicism. He was homosexual but got married. In my book I tried to describe one of the most remarkeble figures of Victorian England who struggled from boundarys built by the age he lived in.
