Covers the period 1817 to 1922 with good reporting of the war in Persia 1857, the second Afghan War, Third Burmese War, Aden, the Persian Gulf, and the Great War. In the latter, as 123 Outram's Rifles, the Regt fought in Egypt and in the Palestine campaign. The coverage of the latter is good, with many individuals of all ranks mentioned by name. Chapter XIV is particularly important. It covers the services of 3/153 Rifles, a unit to which Outram's Rifles sent a large draft (contributing 50% of its officers and men and its CO.
