This book explores the political and literary culture of sixteenth-century Savoy through the lens of Emmanuel-Philibert de Pingon, a court poet, diplomat and historiographer embedded in the political life of the duchy. It examines how literary production and personal networks shaped Savoyard identity during a period of territorial occupation and shifting European alliances. Drawing on archival research, rare manuscripts and interdisciplinary methods, it investigates themes of diplomacy, historiography, antiquarianism and cultural memory.
