In her late twenties with no romantic prospects Kate wonders if love and marriage have passed her by. Raised in a discordant home she struggles with emotional issues, her ego remaining reasonably intact only through a tender relationship with her father. Then she meets Frank and is soon convinced she has found her soul-mate.
