Ivy Gretskii and her neighbor Milan Brayton have been best friends since they were very young. And although he graduated two years before her, they plan to attend Stanford University together in the fall. Ivy prepares for senior prom and graduation while Milan attempts to live his dream of becoming a writer. They have the perfect summer planned and things start off flawlessly until Milan meets the new girl in the neighborhood, Rachael Hampton. Rachael is the total opposite of Ivy. She is beautiful but rebellious, rude and spoiled. Rachael moves in quickly and changes Milan's attitude toward everything. He and Rachael begin to spend more time together leaving no room for Ivy.
