Being part of the Top of the World Stories for Boys and Girls they were written by Finnish authors Zachris Topelius, Helena Nyblom and J. Krohn for the children of Finland and Sweden and then translated to English by Emilie and Laura Poulsson. I have left the stories in their original version, they are as topical today as they were then, but I have edited a lot of the old style words to make them look and sound modern.
