Publisher Marketing: The author Alice Hein Schiel, the tenth child of Nora Mae and Hugo Hein, grew up in Somerville, Texas. In University Interscholastic League writing competitions she won a four year college scholarship in journalism, but opted to pursue Biblical studies. She worked as a proofreader and "headline setter" for the Somerville/Burleson County Tribune and graduated from Midwest Bible Institute with a two-year degree in Bible and ministry. She obtained Bachelors and Masters degrees in education from Sam Houston State University. Alice and her husband Bill Schiel who reside in Decker Prairie, Texas are the proud parents of four married children and seven grandchildren. Alice taught Christian education classes for 30 years and public education (junior high and college) for nineteen years; most of the public education years were spent teaching in Magnolia, Texas ISD. Bill and Alice have always been active in their local church serving in many ways such as elders, teachers, and Sunday School administrators; and Alice has served as pianist/keyboard player for the church praise team for over 38 years. She has enjoyed writing curriculum, poetry, and various short pieces. This is her first published book.
