Hank Hansohn, the son of German immigrants to Minnesota Territory, grows up in the lush green lands neighboring the lands set aside as agency land for the Lakota Indians when they are pushed out of their native lands to make room for the onslaught of white settlers moving into the area. Hank's closest childhood friend is Walking Moon, a Lakota youth living on the reservation just west of New Ulm, until he harsh conditions the Lakota are forced to bear under the government's care drive them to rise up and start the other American Civil War. Based on a true event that took place in Missouri in 1862, Shades of Right is the story of what it takes to bring together a slave brave enough to approach a complete stranger for help when just asking risks his life and the man in the 9th Minnesota Regiment who responds to a slave's request for help with actions knowing that the result is to be court martialed. Contributor Bio:  Braemer, Robyn Robyn Braemer lives in northern Minnesota with a very large dog and a very large cat. They are her hairy children who replaced the grown children who grew up and moved far away in pursuit of their own paths in life. Robyn has also published The Horse Keeper, another Zipper Chronicle. When not writing Robyn is exploring with a camera in hand and constantly flexing creative muscles in a wide variety of crafting/artistic interests. She worked as a Quality Validation Engineer for a mapping company for over sixteen years and when that chapter closed chose to embrace the opportunity to focus on writing novels.
