Brief Description: A timely anthology by Christian ethicists and ecclesial groups who are concerned with the justice of war in the 20th century. Seeking to sharpen our moral literacy about the ethics of war, Pope Pius XII, the Niebuhrs, and U. S. Catholic and Methodist bishops address ethical issues relevant to modern warfare--obliteration bombing, selective conscientious objection, and nuclear deterrence.

Contributor Bio:  Miller, Ron Ron Miller spent nearly thirty years as an educational scholar and activist, known internationally as a founder of the holistic education movement. He authored or edited nine books, established two journals, co-founded an alternative school, and was on the faculty of the progressive Education program at Goddard College. His work is archived at www.pathsoflearning.net. In 2011 he retired to run an independent bookstore in Woodstock, Vermont. He has served on the Vermont Commons editorial board since 2007. Contributor Bio:  Miller, Karen In 2005 Donald Miller started"The Mentoring Project, " an organization that helps churches start mentoring programs and pairs mentors with boys in need. Don's work with the fatherless led the Obama administration to invite him onto the president's task force on fatherlessness and mentoring. Donald is the director of "The Burnside Writers Collective", an online magazine. He is a frequent speaker, appearing at events such as the Women of Faith Conference, The Democratic National Convention, and Harvard University.
