Trouble is-tragically-nor is anyone else 'Oh, be quiet, you beastly rabble!' bellowed Pop. The children were suddenly silent and still. They looked up at the sweets warily. 'I haven't eaten yet,' said Pop. 'And I expect my dinner to behave!' 'Who-who-who is your d-dinner?' stammered Penelope Prawn. Billy Brown could tell the answer to that question, just by looking at the wicked glint in Pop's eye. 'It's us, isn't it?' he said faintly. 'Yes, well observed, young man!' said Pop stolidly. 'Now-let the feast commence!'
